Mirror: Alvaro Morata too expensive for Arsenal

This should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism, but it would appear that Arsenal has been priced out of the Alvaro Morata chase now that the Spanish striker is back at his home club of Real Madrid.

According to the Mirror's John Cross:

Real Madrid have slapped a staggering £60m price tag on Alvaro Morata. It has already scared off Arsenal who believe that is way too much and it could leave a straight fight between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Now, no price has been confirmed by anyone just yet as all sort of numbers are making the rounds without any source close to Real Madrid locking down on any one amount. Cross could very well be right given that he's an established journo, but this could all very well be smoke and mirrors from the Spanish outfit and one has to question how much an English journalist really knows about the inner workings of Flo Perez's toy.

Morata's price likely will be fairly higher than the €30 million Madrid paid Juventus to bring Morata back, no doubt of that, but some of the rumored selling prices and salaries are just silly so Arsenal might not be out of it yet. One also can't discount the very real idea that Morata will just stay put so if you're fearing the idea of him at Chelsea or Manchester United, maybe don't fret just yet.

Keep an eye out for more updates as this saga likely won't end any time soon.
