Over the last few weeks, there have been grumblings from pretty solid sources connected to Arsenal that Alexis Sanchez's smile has turned upside down as of late, and that the disconnect is big enough between the Chilean and manager Arsene Wenger that other clubs are starting to sniff around his status in North London.
Given his history of success in Italy, it makes sense that rumors are being floated that Italian giant Juventus is interested in the forward, if he and the club decided a split was in both parties' best interest.
On one hand, you never want a player stuck at the club who doesn't want to be there. Team chemistry is a real thing, and keeping someone around who can poison that intangible well is highly destructive. But on the other hand, this is Alexis we're talking about. He's been our main source of goals over the past two seasons and, if he ever sticks on the right for an entire campaign, is bound to only improve with more time at the club.
This is definitely something to keep a close eye on as the summer swings into full force. All relationships have ebbs and flows, and while we don't know if this one is too fractured to ride the waves is unknown at this time we might be getting a better idea on the health of it very, very shortly.
