While I don't think he yet rises to the level of an Abou Diaby, Danny Welbeck's injury history is still not great; he just came back from one serious knee injury in February, and this weekend, of course, he had to come off with an injury to his other knee that looked fairly serious. We still don't yet know the actual extent of the injury, and probably won't until tomorrow, but we get word today that Welbeck is fearful that he'll have to miss the European Championships.
It seems like Roy Hodgson & Co. will be getting the results of Welbeck's scans today, as the England staff meet to start planning their European adventure this summer, and I would expect that the rest of us will know something shortly after that. I'm gutted for the guy - he worked so hard to get back into game shape and had played well in stretches this spring, and I was looking forward to seeing what he could do over the summer and into next season.
Fingers crossed the injury isn't as bad as we all fear and that he'll be ready to go for the next Premier League season at least.
