One of the few consistent bright lights of this season, frustrating as it has been recently, is the play of Mesut Özil. He's been the most consistent of an inconsistent bunch, and the rest of the world is finally realizing what we've known all along - that he's awesome.
Another reason he's awesome is that, unlike most of us, he's not giving up on Arsenal's title hopes just yet:
"Although there are only a few games left, Leicester have a run against some of the big teams to come. We ourselves must in any case not allow any more slip-ups. The hope of the title is still there - we have the players for the title."
He also had some complimentary things to say about league leaders Leicester City:
"They deserve to be up there; Leicester fight for every point," he said. "We see in every game that players of Leicester want to achieve something. We ourselves have not been focused in every game and that is not possible in the Premier League since there is no opponent you can beat easily."
And finally, he gives voice to what we've all been thinking:
"We know that it will not be easy and that we need reinforcements if we want next season to be on top here again."
If the rest of the squad feels the same way about the remainder of the season, and if they rediscover that focus, there may be some fun moments left between now and May after all.
