The Boss got a little testy with members of the press while being quizzed about ongoing contract negotiations with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil on Thursday, reminding them that there are other players with deals expiring as well.

“We have a lot of work to do but you are only interested in two cases,” he said, according to The Telegraph. “We have started talking to Ox. We’ve started with Santi as well and will certainly extend with him. We will work with Giroud as well and on many players.”

In total, Arsenal has 10 players whose deals are set to expire within the next 18 months, including Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere.

Wenger also brought out the old classics of no player being bigger than the club and Arsenal’s strong financial position, lending more credence to rumors that negotiations with Alexis and Özil may not be going to plan. Let’s hope this is all one big misdirect before announcing new deals for both and the surprise signing of Marco Reus.
