Alexis, Özil top NBC’s list of Premier League players

Well, there’s someone between the two of them, but whatever.

I generally don’t put a lot of stock in punditry, of any stripe. None of it is scientific, it’s all subjective, and while they’re fun to talk about, things like top player lists are generally based more on the biases of the lister than anything else. And that’s fine, it’s just not all that interesting most of the time.

That said, though, one of those subjective lists just came out today, and Arsenal top it. NBC Sports (full disclosure: they are business partners with SBN) did a quick video feature on the top five players in the league right now, and to hopefully no one’s surprise, Alexis Sanchez is #1. Some other dude is at #2, and Mesut Özil is #3.

The lister here thinks that Alexis “isn’t far behind” Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as far as the conversation for best in the world goes, and he calls Özil “easy on the eye” and says he does all the simple things really well.

Check it out for yourself (Unfortunately, I believe this is geolocked to the US):
