Arsenal’s first choice goalkeeper gave an interview with the club’s official site in which he discussed what it will take for the club to finally win another Premier League trophy.
He thinks around 87 or 88 points are needed to win the league, which Arsenal isn’t quite on pace for. Still, the man who has won four league titles is singing a positive tune with regards to the Gunners’ title campaign.
“"If you have back-to-back losses then you have to go and make up for it in different games. Then you can catch up,” he said. “It’s a long-term competition so if you have a period where you’ve not been particularly great, you can still make up for it.”
Indeed, current league leaders Chelsea can attest to that.
Cech went on to say, “There are still enough games to make up for our blip and I also think it’s impossible for our opponents to not drop points.”
Hopefully the next few months will prove him right.
