It’s a story that’s been rumored for almost as long as I’ve been an Arsenal supporter, and now it appears it might finally be happening- Arsenal is reportedly set to bid Julian Draxler.
Arsenal’s bid is for €35 million, which would make this one of the biggest transfers in club history. Wolfsburg, however, is asking for €40 million, and Arsenal isn’t the only team after him either, with PSG having entered negotiations as well.
The reporter behind this story is apparently the same reporter who broke Martial to Manchester United, so the source is solid.
There are attitude concerns with Draxler, but his talent is undeniable, and he could slot into the left wing role that neither Iwobi nor the Ox have been able to lock down. If it works out, it’s the type of transfer that could put Arsenal’s title campaign over the top.
Also, Mesut Özil, who as you might have heard is in the midst of contract negotiations with the club and plays with Draxler on the German national team, is said to be pushing for this as well, giving the club even more incentive to bring Draxler in.
