The EFL Cup is nothing glamours but Emiliano Martinez’ work in it must have impressed the club enough that they have committed to him with a new contract.
I'm delighted to have signed a new contract for @Arsenal love this club! Once a gunner always a gunner pic.twitter.com/4Kfhw3savB

Having been with the club since 2010 and loaned pretty consistently in that time, Martinez is finally making some breakthroughs, appearing 10 times for the senior club. He has two clean sheets in the ELF Cup vs. Nottingham Forest and Reading. He’ll look to continue this success as Arsenal face Southampton in the quarterfinals next week.
With fairly good reputation, Martinez should move into the backup role by the end of David Ospina’s contract or perhaps more should Petr Cech be the first to move on.
