According to a report from ESPN FC, Arsenal is stepping up its interest in Hull City left back Josh Tymon.
The report says that Arsenal was impressed with Tymon’s performance in last season’s FA Cup match with Hull City, and has been interested in him ever since. Everton and Liverpool are also said to be interested in the defender.
Tymon is only 17-years-old and just made his Premier League debut, so obviously he’s more of a buy for the future.
Of course, “interest” is a rather vague term. I am sure Arsenal is interested in a lot of young players, and since ESPN FC’s sources for this story come from the player, it could just be a bit of savvy media manipulation on his agent’s part.
The report notes that Tymon is still on a scholarship deal with Hull and has yet to sign a full professional contract, so for the moment at least he should be a cheap buy, although Hull is still hoping to sign him to a professional contract.
