Arsenal center-back Shkodran Mustafi had a particularly strong showing in international duty for Germany this week, as he was voted Man of the Match in Germany’s shut-out win over Italy in a friendly on Tuesday.
The news should be of no surprise to us Arsenal fans, considering just how awesome Mustafi has played for the club in the backline so far this season.
Germany had opted to call in a young squad for the November international break, hence why our boy Mesut Özil did not get in on the action. Serge Gnabry, on the other hand, did get in on the action, and acquitted himself quite well, against San Marino at least.
Other international break performances of note for Arsenal were medical miracle Alexis Sánchez and Joel Campbell, each of whom scored a brace, for Chile and Costa Rica respectively.
Anyway, congrats to Mustafi on a job well done, hopefully those strong performances will keep going in what is a tough November slate for Arsenal.
