Could all roads to boosting Arsenal’s title chances lead Arsene Wenger to Roma? Yes, if this report from The Sun is to be believed, which, **Ron Howard voice** it probably isn’t.
The Sun reports, “Wenger wants to bolster his midfield with some young talent and has already been in touch with Paredes’ representatives in Italy.”
The 22-year-old Paredes is described as a deep-lying midfielder who is enjoying a breakthrough season with Roma in Serie A.
If he were to be signed, Paredes would provide added depth and competition in the midfield for a title push this season, as well as a potential long-term replacement for Santi Cazorla in the deep-lying playmaker role. Of course, a Paredes would probably also mean the final nail in the coffin of Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal career. Au revoir, Jack, I shall pour out some of my coffee for you as you are a homie no longer with us.
But then again, this could all be nonsense. Aren’t transfer rumors fun?!
