Fixture Congestion Season is upon us, kids. Thursday's the Champions League draw, but before that, we had the Capital One cup draw just now, and it coughed up a tasty fixture: Arsenal play Spurs on the 21st of September. Hostilities renewed, rivalries intensified, etc. Remaining to be seen: whether Arsenal play their U-19 squad.
Also of interest from an Arsenal perspective in the Capital One Cup draw:
- A Midlands derby, featuring Jon Toral's Birmingham taking on Aston Villa
- Ipswich Town, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles, travel to Old Trafford
- Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden's Hull City host Swansea
- Serge Gnabry's West Bromich Albion at Norwich
- Emiliano Martinez's Wolves at Middlesbrough
- Jenko's West Ham at Leicester
- Also, if Daniel Crowley and Barnsley get by Everton tomorrow somehow, they'd be at Reading
All these matches will take place the week of the 21st. Exact dates/times to be confirmed.
