Here we are, Monday night, the most traditional of all traditional nights for English soccer. Arsenal take on Liverpool in an attempt to reduce the number of potential Invincibles by one. I love the small sample size of the early season, because right now Watford are still on pace to be Invincible. If any team deserves the mantle of invincibility, it's Watford, right?
Anyway, Arsenal are looking to build a bit more momentum after last week's win, and fans at the Emirates - and those of us watching from further afield - will be looking for a lot more solidity and fluidity than they saw at the Emirates on opening day. I'm not sure this counts as a "big game" in the traditional sense, but Liverpool are always a big opponent, and if Arsenal are to be challenging for titles, games like this are extremely important - especially in light of their performances so far this season.
Arsenal are a better team than they've shown so far this season; here's hoping tonight we see how much better.
