1-0 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 24'
Only one goal was scored in today's Community Shield game between Arsenal and Chelsea, but it was certainly one worthy of winning a (pseudo-)trophy. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's first-half strike ended up being enough as a stalwart back line and a few saves from Petr Čech kept the Blues off the scoresheet.
Seriously though, The OC's goal was a real beauty. Here it is:
Čech's first game against his old squad was a success, and he had at least one save that saved a goal, against an Oscar free kick. Speaking of firsts, this was also Arsène Wenger's first win against a Jose Mourinho team, which is one of those annoying things you have to hear about every time Arsenal plays Chelsea (and probably still will, since this is really just a friendly). Real game or no, a win is a win, and a shiny piece of metal is nice to have.
The real thing starts next weekend. Bring on West Ham.
