Walcott may sign da Arsenal ting, may not

Some mixed signals happening here.

This is a Walcott. The main photo tool is down for maintenance so it's not the right Walcott.

Theo Walcott's contract ends after the 2016/17 season, and Arsenal have been trying to extend his deal so his future is assured to be in North London. After last time around with Walcott, they want to make sure he's under contract as early as possible, avoiding as much drama as they can.

Well, along comes Theo today, injecting a bit of drama into this dramaless situation. When asked about his contract situation, he wasn't exactly sounding like a man desperate to re-sign with Arsenal:

"My agent has talked to the club, I enjoy playing for this club so I am just letting them crack on with things and I'll continue playing football. If it happens it happens.

So, Walcott's on board. Or not. Whatever. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if Walcott's own valuation of his skills, and his estimation that those skills are worth more than £100K/week, match with Arsenal's valuation. Either way, it doesn't sound like Walcott is too bothered. So maybe we shouldn't be either.
