There's a professional wrestler who goes by the name Darren Young, who's a member of one of my favorite tag teams, the Prime Time Players. Their gimmick is built around professional sports; they basically are cast as amazing athletes whose training and talent drive them. One of Darren Young's nicknames is "Mr. No Days Off," and at this point I think it's time we start applying that nickname to Alexis Sanchez.
Alexis, according to Arsène Wenger, may only miss one competitive game to start the upcoming season, even after playing in nearly sixty last season for Arsenal and for Chile.
Alexis will be back on 3 August. Usually it takes three weeks to be competitive. With Alexis it could be a bit less. He will miss certainly the first game. He is an important player for us and he showed he has the winning mentality when he took on the responsibility to take the last penalty in the Copa América final against Argentina.
Alexis could be back to face Crystal Palace in week 2, but will definitely miss the season opener against West Ham and the Community Shield friendly against Chelsea. After going straight from Barcelona to the World Cup to a full Arsenal season and then the Copa America tournament this summer, I don't think anyone would begrudge him a bit of a break. But if he's legitimately able to come back that fast, then it's certainly helpful.
