The Petr Cech story rumbles on. I'm not sure it's a saga, really, because there's no tension to it - Cech wants to leave, Arsenal want him, all that's left is negotiating the terms of his exit. And those terms...they're pretty sweet, I gotta say.
We got a little clarity on those terms today, as the Telegraph reports, albeit without an attributable source, that Arsenal are ready to welcome Petr to Arsenal's £100K a week club, breaking their record for goalkeeper wages. Still no word on a timeline, or if Jose's desire for a player going the other way will be satisfied, but at least now we know that Petr Cech will be able to eat at the same restaurants as the Ramseys, Sanchezes, and Özils of the Arsenal world.
Arsenal's previous highest paid goalkeeper, by the way? I don't really know, because historical salary data is almost impossible to find. Szcz is on £65K a week, though, so that's probably it.
