All of us here at The Short Fuse have been heavy backers of Alexis Sanchez basically since the day he came to Arsenal. Trust me, we like him a lot.

So it is with great pleasure that I can tell you that Your Boy Alexis has won the PFA Fans' Player of the Season award, after coming out victorious in a fan vote alongside such competition as Harry Kane and Philippe Coutinho, as well as second and third-place finishers Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero.

Since this was an online fan vote, it's not altogether surprising that an Arsenal player won it, but the accolade is not undeserved. Alexis has had a great first season in England, leading the team with 24 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions, and scoring sixteen (with eight assists) in the Premier League.

In a fun touch, Alexis will be presented with the award by a fan at an Arsenal home game next season; the fan will be chosen from among the voters. Alexis FC is alive and strong.
