Arsenal center back prospect Stefan O'Connor has joined League Two side York City on loan. The loan move is set to last until January 5, 2016. No word on if there is any option to extend the loan.

O'Connor, one of the more recognizable Arsenal youth prospects due to his first-team flirtation last season during our annual injury crisis, has mainly been on the bench this season for the U19s and U21s. The regular pairing this year has been Krystian Bielik and Julio Pleguezuelo. O'Connor did curiously start in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb U19 and, in hindsight, it may have been to put him in the shop window for a loan move.

York City are currently 23rd in the League Two table (out of 24 teams) and have allowed more goals than any other English fourth-division side. It seems as though O'Connor may be asked to perform a minor miracle to keep the North Yorkshire club from slipping further into relegation peril.

We here at The Short Fuse wish Stefan all the best in his stint at York City!
