There, that's more like it!

Well, that was a bit better. Arsenal came out of the gates like a rocket piloted by Usain Bolt, and scored three times in the game's first twenty minutes to build a lead that Manchester United was unable to come close to overturning. After the early onslaught Arsenal had a few chances to extend that lead even more – including a great chance for Aaron Ramsey on a volley that he put well over the goal – but the second half was more defensive than anything. Petr Čech had a few very nice saves to keep his clean sheet and overall, United were simply overpowered.

The three goals were all quite good, but Alexis' brace probably duel it out for Best Goal Of The Day, with the first being a nifty backheel right in front of goal, and the second a powerful curled shot from long range.

With the win, Arsenal step ahead of United into second place in the Premier League, only two points behind Manchester City. After a somewhat-shaky start to the season in the league (not to mention a definitely-shaky start in the Champions League) that's not a bad place to be.
