According to Arsène Wenger, Arsenal will get only Per Mertesacker back from the ranks of the injured and unavailable ahead of a Capital One Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow. Aside from that, the injured stay injured.
Mertesacker was unavailable for the win against Everton this weekend due to illness, but the manager says the defender has recovered fully and will at least be an option for Tuesday's game. Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, and other long-term cases like Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, and Tomas Rosicky remain injured and unavailable.
David Ospina is also still injured, meaning that "Čech will certainly play," according to Wenger. That's somewhat of a surprise considering the Capital One Cup is usually an avenue for rotation for Wenger, and Čech isn't literally the only goalkeeper available to him. Against a non-Premier League side, one might expect some youth players to get a first-team chance, but that comment raises some doubts. Hopefully some players who could use a rest (cough Alexis Sanchez cough) will get one anyway,
