Handing over the keys: It's Tottenham Takeover Day

See you tomorrow. We hope.

May as well get used to it

It seemed like such a good idea at the time: a friendly challenge to a rival fanbase in order to accomplish a goal. Problem is, as adult grownup people, we have to honor that challenge when it's met - we can't claim drunkenness, we can't say the dog ate our assignment, we can't otherwise deny the reality of what happened. And oh, it happened.

What happened? Cartilage Free Captain stepped up, big time. They raised about $2300 of the $5000 that Thomas needed in order to pay off his medical bills, so in return for that, this is the last post you'll see from The Short Fuse staff for the next 24 hours.

That's right: we're giving CFC control of the place for the day. Everything you see on The Short Fuse today, following this post, will be written by CFC's staff, and a good number of CFC commenters will no doubt be around all day as well. We - both CFC and TSF - want this to be a fun, banterific day, and not to be an ugly spiteful mess. So both mod staffs will be around, and we'll make sure that things stay on a really fun level - but make no mistake, CFC is driving the bus today. Where the bus is headed is a matter of conjecture.

Thanks, once again, to everyone at CFC - to Dustin and his staff who have been plotting this for a few weeks now, to the CFC readers who donated to the cause, and to CFC readers who didn't donate but are hanging out here today anyway. We wouldn't have been able to do this without you, and in return for this day, all we ask is that you don't tear down our signs.

Normal TSF service will return tomorrow.
