According to James Olley of the Evening Standard, England international forward and current Manchester United player Danny Welbeck, who is in London for training with the national side, is taking the opportunity to do a little shopping (of himself):
Danny Welbeck is at #afc's training ground. He would prefer joining #afc over #thfc & is trying to force through a deal. Wenger's move now.

Attention #AFC fans: Standard Sport understands Danny Welbeck is trying to force a move to #AFC. Updates here...http://t.co/zLFlv1CONs

Maybe Jack Wilshere is whispering in his ear?
The move for Welbeck seems plausible on paper; the winger has not gotten a lot of playing time up north at Old Trafford, and he does fill a bit of a need up top for Arsenal, although he is not the Giroud-shaped center forward that some might want. At the right price, though, he certainly could come in and help, providing a different sort of option up front than the Gunners have without sacrificing Alexis Sanchez on the wing, and with Marco Reus probably going nowhere today, the Welbeck rumors might pick up steam. More updates to follow as they come.
