Arsenal On Tour: Travel Squad Announced

Here's the cast of characters for Saturday's tilt.

You're welcome, apostolos

Arsenal are, as we speak (or as I write this, anyway), winging their way across the Atlantic on a jet that makes the TSF jet look like the Indians' charter plane from Major League.  On that jet, as you'd suspect, is a collection of Arsenal players. Which ones, you ask?  These ones, according to the Red Bulls, who just released this info:

Goalkeepers: Damien Martinez, Wojciech Szczesny
Defenders: Hector Bellerin, Kieran Gibbs, Isaac Hayden, Carl Jenkinson, Ignasi Miquel, Nacho Monreal
Midfielders: Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Abou Diaby, Mathieu Flamini, Kristoffer Olsson, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, Jon Toral, Jack Wilshere, Gedion Zelalem
Forward: Chuba Akpom

So, as expected, no few World Cuppers, and a nice assortment of youngins to mix with the more senior players. As with any preseason game, the usual caveats apply: Don't read too much into formations, starters, or tactics, as the group's only been together for a couple weeks.  This is more of a tourist opportunity than a game, but even still, it's good to see Arsene giving some kids a runout to see how they handle playing against the King Of New York.  No, not that one, don't be ridiculous; this one.
