Nine years without a trophy can make men do weird things. In Arsenal's case, it's getting Per Mertesacker, Tomas Rosicky, Laurent Koscielny, Mathieu Flamini, Carl Jenkinson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bacary Sagna and Thomas Vermaelen to get in front of a camera and give their best efforts at singing "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon."
OK, let's break this down, shall we?
The winners are, hands down, Mertesacker (although, his left arm is making movements that might be NSFW-ish), Jenkinson and Ox, and to a lesser extent, the duo of Rosicky and Koscielny.
The losers are the rest of them. Flamini does nothing to hide from the fact that he's clearly reading off a cue card telling him both the lyrics to this four-bar song and where to put his arms and hands. Then there's Sagna and Vermaelen who look as though they're being forced at gunpoint to sing. I wonder why that is?
Anyway, it's nice to see a few of the squad members pushing their egos aside to engage in a bit of silly fun. Hopefully they can sing this song in a couple weeks' time, but with a trophy in hand.
