0 - 1 Aaron Ramsey 53'
0 - 2 Carl Jenkinson 62'
Arsenal strolled to a quiet 2-0 victory today at Carrow Road against relegated Norwich City. The match was played mostly at a friendly pace, most of us praying that no injuries occurred as Arsenal ran out a side containing many key players. The first half was uneventful, but this being Arsenal and Aaron Ramsey being a loveable goober and Carl Jenkinson being a loveable even-bigger-goober, the second half featured some nice stuff.
Not much seemed to be on when Olivier Giroud dribbled into the Norwich defense 53 minutes in, but his lofted cross was high enough that Ramsey found time to back up and just lamp a perfect dipping volley from a sharp angle into the far top corner. It was a tremendous strike befitting the amazing year Ramsey has had when healthy, and Arsenal were up 1-0. They kept the pressure on, and nine minutes later, after a Lukas Podolski shot was deflected into the path of a waiting Jenkinson, the right back scuffed home his shot and went mental. It was his first goal in an Arsenal shirt, the club both he and his grandfather adore, and his reaction was understandable as he sprinted away.
He was still beaming when the game restarted a minute later. Just the most bestest thing.
The game puttered along after that, and when Yaya Sanogo came on joined by none other than Abou Diaby, the away support--who were incredible all day--sang Diaby's name, loudly, for five minutes. And he looked good, too.
Roll on the FA Cup Final this coming weekend, everyone. Time to get pumped.
