Arsenal Injury News: Ozil closing in on possible return, but Gibbs out for Hull

Heading toward Sunday's match against Hull (um, AWKWARD), we have some very possibly good news about someone we've been missing in recent weeks.

So, there won't be a cup presentation at the end of Sunday's Arsenal-Hull City matchup, unlike the one happening a month from now, but it's certainly an important match as Arsenal looks to keep its Champions League streak going, and quite happily, Mesut Özil might very well be a part of it.

In today's pre-match press conference, Arsene Wenger hinted that Özil will be available for Easter celebrations at KC Stadium, contingent on upcoming fitness tests to see if he can make the trip north. Wenger understated, "It's good to have him back because we had so many offensive players out. He gives you always opportunities to score and I have to test him physically tomorrow and Saturday to see if he can travel."

Speaking of players back, Mathieu Flamini is done with his two-match FA time-out for his collection of yellow cards, and will be available should he be needed to tackle any advancing players with the skill and aplomb we've grown accustomed to throughout the year. Unfortunately, Kieran Gibbs will be out of action for the second straight match, but his first-choice replacement, Nacho Monreal, may be available following his dead-leg problem from last weekend. If not, look for Thomas Vermaelen to step into the role he played in Tuesday's 3-1 win over West Ham.
