The fifth round draw for the FA Cup has come and gone, and Arsenal Ladies have a pretty favorable draw. Here's a look at how the round of 16 shook out.
- Manchester City v Reading
- Notts County v Coventry City
- Arsenal v Gillingham
- Birmingham City v Doncaster Rovers Belles
- Portsmouth v Durham
- Chelsea v Bristol Academy
- Sunderland v Liverpool
Arsenal Ladies are matched up with Gillingham of the FAWPL (FA Women's Premiere League), and the game is set for April 13th. It will be a home match for the Gunners, so all signs point to a sixth round appearance. The draw for the sixth round will probably occur a day or two after the match, as that is what happened for last year's competition.
Friendly reminder that last year's edition of the tournament saw Arsenal Ladies taking home the hardware in a 3-0 win over Bristol Academy with some lovely goals from Steph Houghton, Jordan Nobbs, and Ellen White. The Ladies are looking to defend the title and win back to back FA Cups for the first time since their epic four title run from 2006 to 2009. A win in this year's tournament would give Arsenal Ladies their 13th FA Cup trophy, by far the most in women's soccer. For those keeping track at home, Sunderland has the second most with eight.
