Three Arsenal Players Get New Contracts

All good news, but not, sadly, the news we were all hoping for, at least not yet.

Word today from the mothership that Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, and Gedion Zelalem have all signed new, improved contracts with the club.  The biggest news here is Aaron Ramsey tying his future to the club - prior to his injury, he was rapidly emerging as a key to Arsenal's success, and now he'll be that key for a few more years yet.

Opinions have been mixed on Cazorla this year, but I still rate him - he's no worldbeater, but he's a supremely effective part of the midfield when he's at his best (and when he's playing with a full strength side next to him, which he hasn't done most of the season).  Zelalem's young, of course, but he's shown loads of promise, and Arsene is very happy to have him stick around and develop into the awesome force we all hope he can become.

No news on Bacary Sagna, which isn't exactly worrisome but is still something we'd all love Arsenal to get done sooner rather than later.

That aside, though, Arsenal have done a great job in the last couple seasons of locking down their core - this is what Arsene's wanted to do for a while, and now it's happening, and I couldn't be happier.
