Ozil to Have Scan on Hamstring Injury Today, Out "At Least a Few Weeks"

Now we know why Mesut Ozil was subbed out at halftime of yesterday's match -- a hamstring injury that will sideline him for some important matches.

An injury-filled Arsenal season got even more riddled with injury yesterday, as Mesut Ozil -- the player many still see as the missing link between a 4th place league finish and a 1st place league finish -- suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of Arsenal's 1-1 tie/defeat to Bayern Munich yesterday.

In his post-match press conference, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger noted that the severity of the injury is not yet known, but the injury will definitely keep him out of Sunday's North London Derby, and Wenger's initial assertion that he'll be out "a few weeks" means that he most likely won't be in the lineup for crucial title-rival matches against Chelsea and Manchester City.

Ozil is set to have a scan on the injury today -- a less-severe injury will give Arsenal fans hope that he's in the mix for the April 12 FA Cup semi-final match against Wigan; a more-severe injury, already being tweeted about before anyone really knows for sure, could keep him out for most of the remainder of the season, putting him in the same boat (a Club Diaby catamaran) as teammate Jack Wilshere.
