Wilshere to Return For Liverpool Match?

Potentially good news from today's press conference featuring Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger -- the relatively depleted roster, which doesn't even have a 31-year-old Swedish midfielder to add to the mix, might be getting a boost this Saturday in the form of Jack Wilshere.

According to Wenger:

The team news is basically similar to the squad that was available in our last game against Crystal Palace. We might have Wilshere back and that's basically it.

Even though Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had a fantastic match last Sunday against Crystal Palace -- in his first start since suffering an injury in the season opener -- Wilshere might be a better defensive option in the double pivot, especially given that Liverpool has 58 goals on the season (second only to the potent Man City offense), while Palace has a league-low 15 goals.

Despite a knock that visibly hobbled Mikel Arteta in the final throes of Sunday's 2-0 victory, Wenger confirmed that the midfielder and sometimes-captain was fine. Mathieu Flamini continues to serve his four-game suspension (which goes until the end of Arsenal's FA Cup match against Liverpool on the 16th), Aaron Ramsey continues to recover from his latest setback, and Kim Källström (assigned the #29 jersey typically given to add-on strikers) is coming back to full health following his dalliance with soccer on the beach.
