Arsenal have been without one of their best players since October, after German national team doctors found damage in the knee of midfielder Mesut Ozil. I have missed him deeply both on a sporting level as well as on a personal level. But in his postmatch press conference after Arsenal's 2-1 win at West Ham United, Arsene Wenger hinted that the wait may soon be over. From the interview transcript:

on whether he’s confident Podolski will stay…

At the moment nobody goes out. We have Ozil coming back now at the beginning of January, so of course there is a lot of competition up front.

AT THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY THAT IS VERY SOON

Ahem. With Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy returning from injury recently, and others like Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta nearing fitness as well, we might just be on the way out of the injury wilderness pretty soon here.
