During his customary Friday press conference before weekend matches, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed the club will be without midfielder Mikel Arteta for their tricky, potentially frightening match at Swansea City on Sunday, but that Jack Wilshere is set to return to the squad:
Arteta will be out for Sunday. He has a mild hamstring strain and he will be out for a short period because it's a grade one. He should be back after the internationals.
Jack is alright, he is back in the squad for Sunday.
Wenger also stated that there's a "little chance" that Laurent Koscielny returns for the Manchester United match on November 22. Given no injuries from now until then, the makeshift back four of Calum Chambers, Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal, and Kieran Gibbs will continue to feature.
The boss also said in today's press conference that Olivier Giroud will be joining the team in training next week, which goes along with past comments he's made about Giroud's recovery schedule being ahead of schedule, which is more than what David Ospina, Mathieu Debuchy, and Mesut Özil can say as Wenger indicated their returns aren't anywhere on the horizon.
