Nacho Monreal was forced off in the 66th minute today with an injury suffered when Ron Vlaar powerfully blocked his shot. On first viewing, it looked as if Monreal had just suffered a cut, but in the post-match press conference, Arsene Wenger said that Monreal could have a broken metatarsal. Tomas Rosicky, too, may be out for a little bit as he suffered a bloody nose from Gabriel Agbonlahor's elbow.
Couple of injuries tonight for #AFC. Wenger says Monreal may have broken metatarsal. Rosicky has 'bad nose' and also needs X-ray

A broken metatarsal usually has a recovery time of 6-12 weeks. Arsenal, of course, have cover at left back with Kieran Gibbs, but if anything were to happen to him, Arsenal would have to choose from one of Thomas Vermaelen, Bacary Sagna or Mathieu Flamini. If Monreal is injured, Arsenal would likely require a defensive signing: with only 7 defenders, they're already a little short.
