Arsenal to host Chelsea in Capital One Cup Fourth Round

The prize for defeating West Brom on penalties? A face-off with a major London rival.

After defeating West Bromwich Albion on penalties in the Capital One Cup's third round, Arsenal will face Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in the competition's next match. It's not the optimal draw for the Gunners, to be sure - honestly I'd rather play Championship teams all the way through the League Cup, so we never have to play a first team starter through the whole run. But Chelsea will be a good test, and with Liverpool eliminated by Manchester United, a win over Chelsea would make Arsenal's position in the competition that much stronger.

Speaking of strong, this draw now means Arsenal face this string of matches at the turn of November:

Date Opponent Location Competition
10/29 or 10/30 Chelsea H Capital One Cup
11/2 Liverpool H Premier League
11/6 Borussia Dortmund A Champions League
11/10 Manchester United A Premier League

That's rough. I almost wish we hadn't won now. Almost. Hopefully by then, the squad will be much fitter, and nobody will die of exhaustion or anything like that.
