Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner may be on his way to Crystal Palace, according to numerous sources including Sky Sports News and Metro:

Crystal Palace harboring Arsenal exiles - Nicklas Bendtner spotted rocking up to discuss loan. Chamakh-Bendtner dream team?

But what's that you say? What about his exorbitant wages? How will Crystal Palace, newly promoted, afford those? Well, there's a potential answer to that:
Arsenal have agreed a £3m pay-off to get Nicklas Bendtner out of the door to allow him to agree a deal for less wages with Crystal Palace
— SportingStudio (@SportingStudio) September 2, 2013
Essentially Arsenal would be paying a little more than half his wages this year to get him out the door; in effect, what this does for the club is get them back about 25k/wk in wages that they can use to sweeten any potential deals now or in January.
Despite the fact that Arsenal have one true number nine and relatively few other viable striker options, the likelihood that Bendtner was going to show up on a teamsheet this year in any capacity was extremely slim, so anything Arsenal can get back now is probably good business. If this is the last we've seen of Nicklas Bendtner, we'll always have that game-winner against Tottenham Hotspur, Nicky.
