Okay. It's almost time. Napoli.
Today's the first Arsenal game of the year that's in the proper continent. Nothing against Asia, of course - as an American, I'm all about the idea of the team travelling around the world, performing for fans who sure as hell can't afford to get to England. But this is where the games that count happen, so this is where things start getting interesting.
As we do, there is a match thread. This is it. The game is available live on ESPN 3, which is the one that's on the internet. If you're new since last season, there are a few rules about match threads. Here they are:
1. No links to illegal streams. This is SB Nation policy, not The Short Fuse. Don't do it. If you do, you risk a ban. Sorry.
2. Swear if you want (though for Christ's sake, this is a preseason friendly), but refrain from any insulting terms relating to race, religion, nationality, gender, or sexual orientation (or anything else like that I may have spaced on). These are intolerable.
3. Be kind to one another. Again, this is a preseason friendly, so. But still, this goes year-round. Just don't be the worst, okay? You're all good people, let's stay that way even under pressure.
Here are the lineups, as they come.
ARS: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Gnabry, Podolski, Giroud
bench: Martinez, Sagna, Miquel, Arteta, Zelalem, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Akpom
NAP: Reina, Mesto, Cannavaro, Britos, Armero, Behrami, Inler, Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne, Pandev
