Breaking: Emmanuel Frimpong's Set to Make His Return to the Pitch Tomorrow Night

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is all but assured a spot in tomorrow night's squad after Arsene Wenger confirmed as much, so says The Guardian:

Ideally we should have waited a bit longer to include him again, said Arsene Wenger, "but once you're back, you want so much a chance to be involved. So I want to give him a chance to be involved at least.

and

He will be on the bench and, if possible, we will put him on. 's (sic) a big moment because he has suffered for a long time and has worked extremely hard.

Frimpong showed flashes of brilliance and untethered aggression in six matches for Arsenal last season, before being loaned out to Wolverhampton and eventually suffering a torn ACL for the second-straight season. While he's been praised as a tough-tackling midfielder who could go on to star for the club, it's still best to remember that he only has 11 total top-flight appearances in his career; competitions like the Capital One Cup are a perfect staging ground for players like Frimpong to both gain experience and get back to full fitness. Hopefully he can stay healthy enough and prove to Wenger and the supporters that his name should be on the first-team squad list for many seasons to come.
