Arsenal Vs. Wolves, Match Reaction

I didn't get to see the entirety of Wolves-Arsenal, but here's some thoughts...

  • Robin van Persie was superb. He assisted Theo Walcott for his goal, also finding him for the penalty, which he took superbly. His urgency won the ball back for the third goal. But...
  • He should've been subbed off. I don't care who plays centre forward, but van Persie was hit with two hard challenges. At 3-0 after 70 minutes, there's no reason to play van Persie.
  • After going 2-0 up, Arsenal relaxed. Which isn't good, because they stopped pressing and moving the ball quickly. They were lax, and Wolves had a great chance to make it 2-1, but Wojciech Szczesny made a world-class save to deny Kevin Doyle.
  • Yossi Benayoun's play has deserved a goal. He's got one tonight, and it was quite a nice finish. He covered the second most distance among Arsenal players, and at one point was at left back with Alex Song at left wing and Santos in the middle.
  • Which, of course, meant that Arsenal were really fluid. van Persie dropped deep, Ramsey and Walcott took up his positions and Wolves couldn't deal with it when Arsenal looked bothered to play at a high tempo.
  • It was a comfortable victory, but it was also annoying. 10 man Wolves were there for the taking, and Arsenal could've improved their goal difference.
