After teammate Benik Afobe's loan was announced earlier today, the club has now revealed that midfielder Chuks Aneke has been loaned to Preston North End in League One until the end of the season. Aneke has played well this season for the Arsenal reserve team, scoring six times in his ten appearances. Preston are currently in 13th place in League One, nearly 40 points behind leaders Charlton, and only eight above the drop.
So Aneke hasn't done quite as well for himself as Afobe has.
Part of that may be due to the fact that, while he's been lighting up the reserves level, Aneke hasn't done as well in the first team. He was loaned to Stevenage (a bit higher up the League One table) earlier this year, but failed to impress. He remains highly regarded at Arsenal though, according to Jamie Sanderson, so hopefully this loan will go more smoothly for him than the last one did.
Here's the fixture list for Aneke's stay at Preston:
24 March: Bury (H)
27 March: Brentford (H)
31 March: Sheffield Wednesday (A)
7 April: MK Dons (H)
9 April: Stevenage (A)
14 April: Huddersfield (H)
21 April: Oldham (A)
28 April: Charlton (H)
5 May: Bournemouth (A)
