Once again there are football games being played today; once again, the Arsenal first team are not involved. We have two Champions League knockout games and the Arsenal reserves play against West Bromwich Albion's reserves. So watch whatever you want, and talk about it here.
The matchups and some light analysis to follow after the jump.
Champions League
Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow (1-1 agg)
Chelsea vs Napoli (1-3 agg)
Reserves
Arsenal vs West Brom
West Brom's reserve team is proportionally much better than their first team, sitting level with Arsenal with 31 points in the southern division of the reserves league. They have two games in hand. Aston Villa leads the league (by nine points) so that shows you something there, I think. As I said earlier, Marouane Chamakh, Park Chu-Young, and Andre Santos all will start for Arsenal, along with Johan Djourou, Carl Jenkinson, and wonderkid Serge Gnabry.
Full Arsenal team is: Emiliano Martinez, Jenkinson, Djourou, Ignasi Miquel, Santos, Nico Yennaris, Oguzhan Ozyakup, Park, Chuks Aneke, Gnabry, Chamakh (bench: James Shea, Martin Angha, Gavin Hoyte, Benik Afobe)
As far as the big dogs, I'm picking Real Madrid to almost definitely overpower CSKA Moscow at home, because they're a pretty fair team. Not sure what happened in Moscow, but I can't see it carrying over. I think Chelsea will make a game of it but Napoli is likely to score, and I'm not sure Chelsea have three (or four) goals in them without conceding more than one.
So comment below if you like, and follow the usual rules.
