Arsenal appear set to sign Borussia Dortmund midfield prospect Thomas Eisfeld to a contract in the next day, according to reports in German sport newspaper Revier Sport and the Daily Mail. Although it is not yet official, Jamie Sanderson tweeted about the possible signing earlier this morning:

Eisfeld's contract expires in June so #AFC paying a nominal fee. Lengthy medical first, as he has had cruciate problems before.

Goal.com's German wing had this to say:

Wie ein Mitarbeiter der Agentur International Soccer Management gegenüber der Revier Sport mitteilte, befindet sich Eisfeld-Berater Reza Fazeli derzeit für Verhandlungen in London. Ebenso ist Eisfeld selbst zum Medizincheck in der britischen Hauptstadt. Wie hoch die Ablösesumme ist bleibt zunächst ungewiss, dürfte aber nicht allzu hoch ausfallen, da Eisfelds Vertrag diesen Sommer ausläuft.

Run through Google Translate, that comes out as:

As an employee of the International Soccer Management Agency to the Reviersport told there is ice rink consultant Reza Fazeli currently in negotiations for London. Likewise, even the ice rink medical check in the British capital. How much is the transfer fee is initially remains uncertain, but it should not be overly high, since ice rink contract expires this summer.

Huh! Apparently, "Eisfeld" is German for "ice rink".

Adjusted:

As an employee of the International Soccer Management Agency [told] Reviersport, [Eisfeld's agent] Reza Fazeli is currently in negotiations for London. [Eisfeld is in London for a medical, as well]. How much...the transfer fee is initially remains uncertain, but it should not be overly high, since [Eisfeld's] contract expires this summer.

At the Daily Mail, they have reported that "Eisfeld is out of contract in the summer and Arsenal will have to pay compensation of around £420,000."

While it's not exactly Eden Hazard, and maybe doesn't help Arsenal right this instant, it's still a potentially exciting youth signing, and we all know what Borussia Dortmund is about these days, so that's cool.

Hey, it's a (possible) signing! CATCH THE FREAKIN' FEVER, PEOPLE.
