Promising youth player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has moved to Ipswich Town for an officially undisclosed fee, according to Arsenal's website today. The utility forward spent the bulk of last season on loan at Championship side Cardiff City, and will now compete for a spot leading the line for Paul Jewell's side, who finished 13th in England's second division last season.

Although the official site left the fee undisclosed, Young Guns tweeted that the fee was believed to be £1.1 million, with a sell-on fee of 20%. In some ways, this fee seems a little low for a player who many have hyped over the past couple of seasons, including Arsène Wenger, but for a player who has physical tools and talent to spare, JET hasn't really found his stride yet at the age of 20.

Whether or not this is because of his lack of application and hard work, it is hard to say, but even the manager had mentioned in the past that this was all that was holding Emmanuel-Thomas back. Hopefully at Ipswich he finds the consistent form that has eluded him so far and realizes his potential.
