Arsenal will go into Saturday's FA Cup sixth round match against Manchester United without captain and playmaker Cesc Fabregas. According to the club's official website, manager Arsène Wenger has said that the Spaniard's hamstring injury has flared up again:
"[Fabregas], no. He had a recurrence of his hamstring problem and he will be out for the next game. Maybe for the next two games.
"He is, of course, very disappointed because it is becoming a little problem for him to [keep] having a recurrence of his hamstring. But it’s a very superficial one."
Striker Robin van Persie, who had a knee concern going into the match against Barcelona on Tuesday, has been passed fit for Old Trafford, though, in a turn of good fortune for Arsenal.
In other Arsenal injury news, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will see a specialist about his finger dislocation sustained on Tuesday. His return date is uncertain at this point.
Midfielder Alex Song and winger Theo Walcott are still out, and defender Thomas Vermaelen has no return date set as of yet either.
