Samir Nasri has been voted the PFA Fans' Player of the Month for January according to the official website, marking the third time this season (October and December being the others) that he has taken the award.
Nasri has been Arsenal's most consistent attacking and finishing threat this season and had appeared in 30 matches in all competitions so far this year, scoring 14 goals and adding 3 assists. A recent hamstring injury will see him miss the next two to three weeks (hopefully), and the club is looking to extend his contract for the forseeable future. According to the official site's article, Nasri's agent is optimistic about this possibility:
Nasri’s agent Jean-Pierre Barnes said: "Samir is happy at the club, the coach believes in him, the directors believe in him as well. He said to me, ‘you won’t believe the great atmosphere in the changing room, I’ve rarely experienced anything like this’.
"Samir has done three seasons with Arsenal and the wise thing to do is to stay with this club.”
Congratulations to Nasri, and get well soon.
