Arsenal welcome Everton to the Emirates Stadium today for their 24th English Premier League match of the season. It is Arsenal's second match in 56 hours. Everton drew 1-1 with Chelsea at Goodison Park on Saturday in their FA Cup matchup.
Arsenal defeated Everton 2-1 in the reverse fixture, first half goals from Bacary Sagna and Cesc Fabregas overcoming a last-minute Tim Cahill (who must have scored a thousand goals against Arsenal by this point) effort. The Everton team facing Arsenal today should look pretty similar, with no significant injuries or transfers to speak of. Louis Saha has a thigh strain, but should be available.
Arsenal will be without the services of Denilson and Samir Nasri, both having hamstring problems. Sebastien Squillaci is suspended. Bacary Sagna, however, should return from his head injury. Johan Djourou and Laurent Koscielny will start at the back, which is great, since that pairing hasn't conceded a Premier League goal in January.
Everton currently sit 14th in the league with a -2 goal difference, but conceding hasn't been as much of a problem as not scoring has been for the Toffees this year. Tim Cahill has nine goals, Jermaine Beckford and Seamus Coleman have five, but then it's slim pickin' after that.
Possible lineup:
Szczesny
Sagna Djourou Koscielny Clichy
Song Wilshere
Fabregas
Walcott van Persie Arshavin
