Swiss International defender Philippe Senderos has joined Fulham FC on a free transfer, the Arsenal official site has confirmed.
The move comes as little surprise; Senderos had only rarely featured in the Arsenal first team for the past three seasons and spent a great deal of them on loan to both AC Milan and Everton.
Big Phil was always a confidence player, and when he could string a good run of games together, he was a quality defender. He was at the heart of the pairing that put togther ten successive clean sheets in the 2005-06 Champions League and also part of the Swiss defense that didn't concede a goal in the group stages of the 2006 World Cup. He put in a number of appearances in the 2007-08 season, but suffered a massive blow to his game when Didier Drogba more or less ate his lunch in a match against Chelsea (which is nothing against Senderos; Drogba seems to eat everyone's lunch when he faces Arsenal, but it happened all the same). He seemed to fall out of favor with Wenger and didn't make any Premier League appearances for Arsenal after that season.
