Arsenal welcome Fulham to the Emirates tomorrow for match day 16 of the Premier League. Fulham currently have a record of 2 wins, 9 draws, and 4 losses, and sit in 17th place (in what is admittedly an extremely cramped league table).
According to Arsène Wenger on the official site, Samir Nasri and Sebastien Squillaci are both fit to play tomorrow, which is good news. Fulham have some injury problems, especially up front at striker, where Bobby Zamora, Moussa Dembele, and Andrew Johnson have all been out for long stretches this year. There is a good chance that Johnson will feature tomorrow, but the Cottagers have been forced to play Clint Dempsey at striker on numerous occasions this year.
Fulham also just re-signed Mark Schwarzer, keeping him at the club through 2012. Schwarzer, of course, had been a much-ballyhooed potential signing throughout the summer, but now it looks, coupled with more solid play from Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny, that that is a thing of the past.
Given that the next match after this match is a fairly crucial Champions League game against Partizan Belgrade, one wonders if Wenger will rest a couple of key players. On the other hand, Robin van Persie needs games, still, and he will almost no doubt feature tomorrow. The injuries are the usual: Thomas Vermaelen, Abou Diaby, and Manuel Almunia.
Possible lineup:
Fabianski
Sagna Djourou Koscielny Clichy
Song Wilshere
van Persie
Nasri Chamakh Arshavin
with Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky, and Denilson probably off the bench at some point.
