According to a report in the Mirror, Sami Khedira might be heading to either Arsenal or Chelsea by the end of the summer transfer window. The story contends that Khedira was planning to finish out the final year of his contract at Real Madrid, but is now eager to move following "showdown talks with boss Carlo Ancelotti," and his agent is now headed to London to finalize a deal with either Arsenal or Chelsea. The story, mirrored by Metro in its coverage today, also contends that Real Madrid is looking for a transfer fee of at least £12 million to let the midfielder go to the Premier League, though a story in Metro yesterday cited reports in Spain saying that Khedira could be freed from Los Blancos for as little at £8 million. Ten days ago, we reported that Arsene Wenger was definitively not in for Khedira, fueling a heady week of William Carvalho speculation that seems to have died down. Though wages for Khedira would certainly be a sticking point in negotiations, the revelations that Khedira would be available for close to the same transfer fee as the newest rumor, PSG's Adrien Rabiot, are either enticing enough for secret Dick Law doings or the great fictive work of transfer window journalists.
